We were appointed by the Department of Education & Training to project manage the design and construction of the newly formed Jennings Street School.

The project comprised of 5 separate buildings including an early years building, middle years, senior years, a ‘Common’ space and a School administration building.

Features of the layout and design of the learning facilities were:

  • Small classes and teaching teams
  • Secure and well equipped playgrounds
  • Outdoor learning areas
  • Student support centers

The ‘Common’ space building is a multi-purpose learning environment that is intended to be used by all year levels and contain a range of learning spaces for students. Staff car parking, covered walkways, a central green and external play areas add to the Campus development. Security and safety are important for the students, this was provided through careful landscaping and fencing to screen the School from the street and adjoining Laverton College.

An Early Works Package was managed which included the demolition of obsolete secondary school buildings, which required a substantial asbestos and contaminated soil removal program.
