Accuraco was engaged to act as relocation managers for Powercor’s staged 9 level (10,000 sqm) refurbishment/fitout at their head office, 40 Market Street, Melbourne, working alongside Powercor’s Contractor, B2B Project & Construction Management.
For the duration of the 12 month program, the Accuraco team planned and managed the timely decant and relocation of over 1000 staff members, some multiple times, between and within two office sites. Accuraco was responsible to ensure that each floor within 40 Market St was vacated in time for refurbishment to commence.
The project entailed the initial relocation of some 200+ staff to decant office space at 357 Collins Street in July 2014. This was followed by progressive relocations of the Powercor staff, within 40 Market Street, as floor levels were completed and staff moved to temporary or final locations. The final relocations were completed in June 2015 and this included returning the staff from 357 Collins Street to the head office as well as relocating additional staff from Powercor depots to 40 Market Street, Melbourne.
Substantial logistical planning and scheduling were carried out to ensure minimal disruptions to Powercor’s business operations and staff productivity. The use of the decant space and endeavouring to minimise the number of moves that staff had to make, helped Powercor to maintain business continuity throughout the refurbishment.
The dedicated work of Accuraco’s team resulted in an extremely smooth relocation experience for the Client. Accuraco is pleased to have been further engaged to deliver accommodation planning for two of Powercor’s key metropolitan depots.
