William Ruthven Secondary College was established in 2010 as a 7-12 co-educational secondary school and was the result of a merger between Lakeside High and Merrilands P-12 College. It serves the northern metropolitan Melbourne communities of Reservoir, Preston, Coburg, Thomastown and Campbellfield with an enrolment of 452 students.

Accuraco has been engaged by the Department of Education & Training to deliver the new school facilities. As part of this Project, a detailed review of a previous Masterplan was undertaken with adjustments made to better align with the current and projected enrolment. Accuraco has managed a consultant team and worked with the College and the Department to define what was achievable as a first stage within the $10M budget.

As with many State Schools, the existing buildings to be demolished contained asbestos which impacted the Program and of course the budget.
A feature of the Project is the unique design of three buildings with curved facades to create an intimate campus presence.
After a lengthy site clean-up and tendering phase, construction commenced on site in Sep-17 and in due for completion mid-2018.
